Each rainy season, many Filipinos are made uncomfortable by either a head cold or flu symptoms. The common head cold is easy enough to recognize, being characterized by nasal suffiness, sore throat and headaches, and sometimes a cough or an earache. Cold sufferers may also run low-grade fevers and they have limited means to combat colds besides bed rest and aspirin. Fortunately, however, most head colds are brief, disappearing usually within seven days.
